Idea: Tournament

Okay. Okay, sorry for not being on, I have been sick! But I haz returned with le IDEA. Okay, so you know that tournament thing in RWBY? Well, what if we did that, but with our own rpg characters? I am not going into detail, because I have to make Keskorie a topic it may or may not be rejected, so... I'm either leaving this to the staff, or waiting for them to approve first!

Sort of like the Grand Magic Games from Fairytail? If so, I vote for this being a thing.

I like the idea, but I'm curious as to how a winner would be chosen? We have to make sure it's fair so maybe a coin toss or something? Maybe we can have it be like that topic on Oak Hollow where people that don't own the characters fighting examine the fighters and decide who will win based off of examinations?

We also need to know the difference in power between each member. E.g. In Dragonstorm, There is a huge spike between Gojira and, say, Nightingale, or a spike between Arik and Yuuki. I'd say there needs be some banning over use of some characters (although I don't want to and wanted to include everyone as much as possible, for the sake of fairness, we have characters that shouldn't belong in this tournament).

Also, how are the teams selected? Currently only 3 active teams exist excluding rogues, (Dragonstorm, Shadow Raiders and RWBY).

I didn't know that we would be doing teams. I mean, if enough people wanted to we could, but I thought this was a mono on mono tournament.

It's not stated, but if it's a one-on-one tournament, that I can approve but some characters, unfortunately, cannot participate for obvious reasons.

It should be OOC as well. I highly doubt some of us would want to hurt our own team mates if we are ever matched up with them.

Would we fight each other in accordings to our level of power? I mean no offence but I don't think Surnia Vs GODZILLA is a good match up or something, or Ariko vs That One Ant in the Corner.

Those are pretty good points. I thought that for super powerful characters like Godzilla, they could be judges or be faced with a handicap match, like 1 vs. 2 or 3. So, I thought the matches could be 1 on 1, or 2 on 2, so on, but I think it'd be best to keep it at 2 on 2 at the most. Oh, and for you OP people, I think a combo of Yuuki, Lead, and Ariko could defeat Godzilla, or Surnia and Areo could defeat One. But if this did work out, I (or the staff) would try to even out the matches. As for Sly's post about it being OOC, it could be in random roleplay, and if there are lots of people signing up or if there are plenty of rounds, each fight could be in a separate topic because, like, 3 fights happening at the same time in one topic kinda makes the thread seem... cluttered.

Nah, I don't think it should be OOC. That wouldn't be as fun! Also, this is more of a sport thing then an actual fight fight, so think of it more as a friendly spar. On another subject, what would the prize for winning be?

That is what I was thinking about, Minea. :) As for prizes, I'd need to talk to Yuuki about that. I was thinking about glows or symbols, and the prizes would be for the top 3 victors.

.... Why would we fight eachother if it's IC then? Like would Godzilla beat up Aiko? Would Ariko and Yuuki fight each other willingly? Will Lead really comply to the rules? I don't really think making it IC is a good idea.

I can agree with Arke's statement because when would Suriname and One ever fight willingly? And in the battles I'm pretty sure someone would go against the rules from rage and try to actually kill them. So I'd say that this should be OOC.

OOC it is, then- or, maybe, we can try to go with neither mode and just see how it goes. You guys choose.
