Greetings all!
Welcome to the Arena. Here, we have a list of monsters that appear throughout all of The Beyond, readily captured and used for the enjoyment of our fighters and spectators! What happens here is, if you ever crave the taste of battle but struggle to find anyone to fight, why not fight these monsters we have here? Fear not though, there is plenty of them throughout the Beyond and can just capture a replacement if they die. Unless it is a SPECIAL monster, in that case, better luck next time. If that is not enough, we also have prizes to give away to the victorious!
Here are a set of rules regarding monster fights:
-Characters must be approved first. Follow the template and tell us what monster you would like to fight
-Not all monsters are available. Always check their availability before posting a challenge
-Death of a character is NOT enabled at this time, so feel free to challenge them repeatedly if you wish
-Characters can NOT fight the same monster they have previously defeated
Now that this is out of the way, let me introduce you to the nasty critters we have available!
Monster Name: Hell Bull
Difficulty: Easy
Availability: Available
Description: A common monster within the Beyond, released into the world since the arrival of an unknown ice dragon. They stand 8ft tall. They originated from hell itself and served as common fighting animals alongside the demons. However, these monsters were not intelligent at all, acting on pure impulse and would attack at anything they see annoying.
Attacks:
Its only attack was Flame Charge, meaning they would enclose themselves in a dome of flames before rushing at an enemy. This dome could protect the bull to some degree, and would easily incinerate anything in contact (except metal). Even for bulky foes, getting hit by a Flame Charge was a very nasty experience, capable of incapacitating them for a short while and breaking their almost-unbreakable bones.
Weakness:
Stupid and acts on impulse. If it Flame Charges into a wall, it will stun the Bull and diminish the fire dome for the duration of one post.
Tip:
Do not attack the bull head on with its fire dome up. Most of the time, the bull would have its shield up every time it sees an enemy. Best bet is to lean against the wall and dodge at the right moment.
Reward:
$1,000
Name: Giant Necroscorpion
Difficulty: Medium
Availability: Available
Description: Like an ordinary scorpion, but much larger. These critters thrive in the desert regions, feeding on large lizards or camels after they killed them. They posed a huge problem to traders and travellers wanted to cross desert regions. The frequency of these attacks was increasing, forcing the Government to find certain individuals who could tackle this threat.
The arena was one place they created for such a task, but it hardly replicated an actual scenario. These scorpions never hunt alone, but better to train gladiators with what they would have to face with before regulating their populations.
These scorpions are incredibly fast, being able to stab almost as fast as an archer shooting an arrow. If that is not enough, its necrotoxin will spray everywhere and the impact can generate small earthquakes. They are also smart, knowing when to burrow if an aerial attack was to come, and will stay underground until it can sense vibration of its foes stepping on the ground.
Burrow – The scorpion digs and burrows underground, disappearing from sight as well as avoiding any attacks. It may appear anywhere and surprise attack its foes.
Necrotoxic jab – The scorpion’s stinger was potent with necrotoxins, destroying any living cells it came into contact with. The necrotoxin, if untreated, would gradually spread and continue to eat the infected victim’s skin, nerves, muscles and even bone. As it result, it could cause paralysis and intense pain.
Weaknesses:
Necroscorpions were well known for their extremely tough hide that they were hunted by desert dwellers to make armour, if only they could afford hunters to perform such a task. However, the hide was at its weakest and thinnest at its back.
Tip:
When the scorpion burrows, it can’t see what’s happening above until it resurfaces. Use this to your advantage.
Reward:
$5,000
Name: Behemoth
Difficulty: Hard
Availability: Available
Description:
Another monster released from hell since the appearance of the ice dragon. A “prototype” of a sort that the demons decided to create in their attempts to defeat this dragon. It was quite a doozy to capture this beast, but seeing how desperate the demons of hell were, we got our sources in how to buy these things.
Extremely bulky and difficult to take down. Although they are quite slow, they can absorb a lot of damage. The power of their attacks depends on how angry it is. And the more you hurt it, the more angry it becomes. So take extra caution when trying to kill this thing. Their hides are very thick, but not as strong as a Necroscorpion’s. They were also extremely strong, capable of knocking a skyscraper from one end of the city to another with just a mere flick of its horned head.
Attacks:
Earth pillars – Behemoth rears on its hinds and stomps, creating a massive earthquake to disorient its foes and shooting pillars of sharp-tipped rock up from the ground. Sometimes followed up by a swing of its tail, breaking these pillars and sending large chunks of rocks at the enemy.
Deafening screech – Behemoth utters a great roar, one with its amplitude and pitch off the charts and hitting well above the threshold of anyone’s normal hearing. As a result, this would have an extremely dizzying effect on anyone who heard it, giving them double vision as the whole world seemed to wobble and swirl before them, as well as making them hear only the high-pitched ringing noise for at least 2 posts.
Earth Coffin – After spending 1 post to charge, Behemoth would cause the earth around his foes, or any position, to rise and crush them, sealing them under rocks and dirt, before dragging and burying them underground, around 20ft under. If they were not crushed to death, the lack of oxygen may kill them.
Weaknesses:
The hide in the Behemoth’s belly region was not as thick, and would give way to a sword strike.
Tip:
The belly is exposed every time Behemoth tries to perform an Earth Pillars attack. Use this opportunity to land a quick strike.
Reward:
$15,000
Name: Bahamut
Difficulty: Extreme
Availability: Not Available
Description:
The grand monster and all of Hell’s most treasured and strongest beast, standing at 140ft. This dragon was created and, after successful breeding, managed to produce quite an abundance of these figures across all of the Beyond. However, they were still no match to our most advanced capturing tools. What? Our cities would have been in ashes if weren’t for us!
These dragons were rumoured to bring all sorts of crisis and disasters upon the Beyond, from famine, to natural disasters, and even the Apocalypse itself. They weren’t as strong as their great Mother, who could turn this entire world into nothing but volcanoes and chasms of lava, or even completely destroy this entire planet in one breath. Their flames, claws, tail and everything are extremely dangerous, being able to destroy anything they touch from existence and reducing them to nothing more than ashes. Yeah. That ice dragon must have been very tough.
Attacks:
Famine’s scream – Bahamut releases a roar, radiating its body temperature towards the surroundings. This heat could easily rise up to 1000 degrees and cook anything within its blast radius, burning off plants and drying up oceans.
Destructive Claws – Bahamut’s claws, wings and tail would glow red. Everything touching these appendages would almost instantly reduce to ashes.
Apocalyptic realm – Bahamut’s eyes would glow red. Everything it focuses on that was not a living being would have a large spell circle imprinted. These circles would glow briefly before erupting into a lava pillar, burning everything in its path and flooding the ground with lava for 1 post.
Requiem – After charging for 1 post, Bahamut would generate a huge sphere of energy from its maw and drops it onto the entire battle arena, enveloping a diameter of 1000metres, incinerating all in its range from existence. Requiem cannot be blocked or countered.
Weaknesses:
