I wonder if they missed me, Nightingale thought, beating her summoned angel wings and soaring her way towards the ocean. I wonder if they remember me.. I sure hope so.
Behind her she could see a single golden spot atop a tree, watching her fly away. She knew it was no other than her uncle Shenzi-- something had popped up a few months ago (that felt like years) and they had to go on this weird journey together. Bonds that were broken were mended, and the two entered the father-and-daughter relationship they had shattered again. But Nightingale knew she had business elsewhere; Team Dragonstorm. She had left suddenly without warning... Had she been replaced? Had she been forgotten? Was Dragonstorm even still standing? ...No. No. That was impossible. There was no way Dragonstorm could have fallen. They were the best team in the Beyond...!
What had Nightingale missed? Any missions? Any news? Did anyone set out to find her? Did anyone leave the team to pursue some other destiny?
Well, there was only one way to find out.
Nightingale landed on the beach that was nearest to Team Dragonstorm's base. She stood on the shore, staring out at the vast azure waters that beheld the HQ. Should she go ahead and enter? Or would someone from the Team spot her from afar and greet her? The goddess glanced around. The pale sand of the shore stretched out in all directions. Maybe, if she waited, someone she was friends with outside of her Guild might show up. Who knows? Maybe someone entirely new?
Whatever was held for her, Nightingale stood in wait.
