Looks: Shenzi is a tall and thin vampire who has a classic taste in fashion and design. He often wears a gold or yellow vest that has a sort of brick pattern on them. The vest/coat has long twin tails at the bottom that flow to his ankles. He has tight black sleeves on his arms and wears black dress pants. He has a tall tophat as well. His coat is lined with shiny buttons and adorned with a bowtie. Oh, and he is missing his left eye, which is covered by a black eyepatch that is shaped like an upside down triangle. He often carries around a cane. Clear traits he has are very long fingers and sharp, large fangs that can be glimpsed when Shenzi is speaking or sighing.
When he hasn't drunken enough blood, after for days Shenzi's appearance will make a drastic change. His skin becomes ghostly pale. His eyes become bloodshot. Fangs protrude from his upper jaw, visible against his lower lip. His cheeks become sunken into his skull. These horrific, disgusting changes will disappear once the vampire feeds on human blood.

Strengths/skills:
Piano-- After playing this instrument for about 99 years, Shenzi is very advanced in playing piano.
Long Fingers-- Shenzi has a condition called arachnodactyly. This means his fingers are much longer than the average human. He has had these since birth. He didn't take up piano only in honor of his mother; he realized he could become really good at it because of his finger length. This means he can reach distant, far-apart keys.
Tae Kwon Do(however you spell it)-- Shenzi knows some tae kwon do. He's not a master or anything, but he isn't a noob either. He's intermediate. He uses his skill to protect himself.
Feeding Off Human Blood-- Feeding from human blood keeps Shenzi's appearance. . . normal. Not drinking blood for a long time can make his appearance look ghostly and unnerving. Might as well just hold up a sign that says "Hey, I'm a vampire!". Feeding off blood also reduces sun damage, but also weakens all his special abilities and strengths by a shocking degree.
Strong Jaws-- Having strong jaws is a vampire trait. Shenzi has this strength to make it easier for him to bite into flesh, and, in rare cases, self-defense. He could bite off someone's fingers(sometimes a hand if extra force is used) if provoked, but he won't do this unless their hands are in his face and the person is threatening him or just being a douche. Doing this as self-defense can leave him with very sore jaws and teeth.
Weaknesses/Flaws:
Not Feeding Off Human Blood-- Shenzi's identity as a vampire becomes more and more noticeable as long as he doesn't drink blood. These appearance-changes start occurring after 4 blood-free days. Not drinking blood can also result in sun damage... But drinking it can also make his strengths and abilities weaken and make his weaknesses more apparent!
Staying In The Sun-- Shenzi experiences heat in a much stronger and painful way than average humans. It's not enough to kill him, but it can weaken his skills drastically.
Drinking Too Much Blood-- What, there's a such thing as drinking too much blood? Yep!! If Shenzi feeds from a human more than twice in a day, he will get really sick. He will sneeze, cough, vomit. His life will turn into a mini-hell for two days. He also experiences mood changes, such as serious depression, anger, and fear. This will all change once the sickness is over.
Fire-- Shenzi is easily damaged by fire and heat. A small flicker could scorch a patch of skin. . . And even if he's just experiencing plain heat, it will hurt and bother him more than others. However, he is stoic, so most people can't notice the hardships he faces by simple summer.
Anemia-- Shenzi was born with anemia, so he has trouble catching his breath. This weakness plays its part after he runs, exercises, and just taking a long walk. He will sometimes stop everything he's doing just to stay still and breathe to steady his lungs.
Boring-- A personality flaw! Shenzi isn't keen on sharing or giving away his history or true identity to random strangers. Most people will see him as a boring guy who just likes piano. This causes him to have a low number of friends and make conversations with others be cut short. Everyone seems to have something awesome about them in The Beyond. At first glance, Shenzi is just a dude who lost an eye and can play piano. Boring, right?
Special Abilities:
Speed-- Super speed is a common trait shared by, but not limited to, vampires. He can run to 80 mph at the maximum, but this limit can only be reached by bursts of speed, or if he's really trying to run away. Besides, the bursts of speed would only last for about five seconds before slowing down at a noticeable rate. His normal speed while just running is 40 mph.
Fire Generation-- Despite being weakened by fire, Shenzi has the ability to generate it using his hands. He has to be careful though!! If it's turned against him, or if something is caught aflame by it and he touches it, it will still cause him damage. . . Even though it can't hurt anyone else! The flame is quite warm and blue or green in color, and someone can put their hand in it without getting hurt. Shenzi mainly uses this power to substitute as a torch. It could be a force to be reckoned with if he trained himself to make the fire grow hotter, but being given his fear of flame, he barely even uses this ability. So what's the point in using it to harm others if you're scared of getting burnt yourself?
Plus. He can transform into a bat. Nothing special. Just a furry black bat. Very tiny. No explanation needed?

Personality: Shenzi is... well, loud. He has a fun-loving exterior. He often uses fun slang and flirty charm to get what he wants or, occasionally, help others when he's not thirsting for blood. He seems to be cheerful and optimistic about almost everything. He has plenty of confidence in himself, believing he can do anything. However, his cheery exterior is only a mask of his true self.
His true self? Dark, brooding. Always hungry for blood. Oh, he's not emo. He's just quiet. He never talks unless he needs to. He observes his surroundings, thinking about who would be the human with the best-tasting blood and the one who would be easiest to feed from. But this doesn't mean he's mean. He's not rude at all. He has a formal and serious attitude, only smiling when he really means it. Most smiles of his are artificial, anyway. He is polite when in company and acts like he has a cold heart, but secretly has the desire to hug everyone. <3

History: Shenzi was born as the younger brother of Aurelius, a child of Cordelia and Veemo Kikai. He was immediately a mama's boy. Ever since he was little he followed his mother around and imitated her actions. He took a lot after her in appearance as well. People often commented on how much they looked alike. Cordelia was a very talented musician, whilst Veemo had the job of being a security guard. Aurelius was 8 years older than Shenzi when he was born and often wrestled with his younger brother. The young Shenzi would usually run off and tattle when he got anything as tiny as a carpet burn. Cordelia soothed her youngest son while Veemo was disgusted by his weakness and whiny attitude. But, Shenzi was not even six at these occurrences. What can you expect?
When Shenzi was 8, Cordelia decided to take a few days off from her work. She would spend a day with Veemo, then Aurelius, and, finally, Shenzi. She would have visited her parents and cousins if it weren't for the tragic accident on the day spent with her youngest child. Cordelia took Shenzi to Xar-whatever it's called to let him look at a very popular toy store (remember he was eight) there. Cordelia bought him a cat toy. When the two were crossing the road at a redlight, a giant bus practically came out of nowhere. The excited, hyper young boy was too distracted on his new toy to notice it. He wasn't even aware of what happened when Cordelia used herself as a shield to protect Shenzi from the impact of the truck.
Shenzi's mother died.
Shenzi fell into a one-week coma after that. He barely survived, but he came to from the traffic accident with a few broken ribs, a broken leg, and collarbone. He woke up with the cat plushy under his arm, and instantly asked the nurses where his mother was and what happened. Upon being told that Cordelia sacrificed her life to save him, Shenzi burst into tears and sobbed. He had to stay in the hospital for another week, causing him to miss his mom's funeral. To this day, he keeps the toy in his home, a place where he can see it everyday. He also took up piano in honor of his mother.
Years passed. One day, when Shenzi was 28, he was approached by his aunt named Arwa. She offered him the chance to become a vampire. She wouldn't tell him why, but Shenzi had an idea: He was petty. He was sensitive. He was weak, a disgrace to the family, particularly on his father's side, which consisted of men who possessed great strength and women with agility and shocking intelligence. Shenzi seemed to carry none of these traits, so he took the offer. After a night, Shenzi had turned immortal with power and skill that came with a price. Then on, he was awfully weakened in the sun and by heat and experienced terrible nightmares.
Aurelius had somehow turned immortal as well, but Shenzi never heard how or why. His older brother was hiding it from him. Veemo died before his father, at the age of 70. His sons both took half of the inheritance left for them and parted ways. They wouldn't see each other for 80 years. When they did, Shenzi was surprised to see that he had a child. Aurelius had come to him with a small, 4-month Nightingale, and told his younger sibling that he didn't want the baby. Shenzi took Nightingale and watched his brother leave. He had plenty of questions: who this baby's mother was, why Aurelius didn't want her. But Aurelius was always stingy with delicate information such as that, so the vampire didn't bother asking. Shenzi rose Night, letting her know since Day-One that he was her uncle, not her father. He never gave her details about Aurelius, except his name and that he was older than Shenzi. He would like to visit his niece at her library one day.
