The awakened one

Devoro was sleeping. He LOOKED like he was sitting up and not asleep, but he wasn't. The ceiling above had, for the centuries in which he was there, shifted, doing little more than rumble. Hanging from the ceiling were two huge tubes, full of 2,000 years worth of food. Of course, to anyone else, it looked unappetizing, but that was how he survived. Of course, these things were extremely large, 50 feet tall and 10 feet wide. He was supported on a platform between them as they pumped nutrients into him. The ceiling above rumbled ominously, dust floating down. Devoro awoke with a start and scrambled back just in time as the whole ceiling fell onto the strange tubes. He hissed as the rocks fell, revealing... sunlight? He was confused. Where was he? Growling, he crawled through the rubble and climbed onto the surface.
