Character development topics

We seriously need some topics where we can develop our characters. Most of them are combat RPs, some sort of party, and in the case of chat box RPs, bar RPs. We need to do something more than just fight, or talk with other characters. We need to develop our characters and show that they're 3 dimensional and not just the badass robot or the speedy ninja. Not only do we need to do this, but we need to allow other characters on the site to see this. It could make for better, more interesting characters and character relationships. Heck, maybe it could even spark some character-centered plots. Now how to do this. You see, that's where I need your guys' help. I don't exatly know how. So write your ideas down and then maybe we could use it or combine it with some other ideas to create something that can work.

I didn't even notice this till now. The upcoming revamp does have some limitations based on how you've developed your character. For the most part though it's up to peeps weather they want to really develop their characters and I understand the frustration in finding those peeps to RP with. After the revamp and as we gain more peeps it'll get a bit easier for us.

I don't even know if I'm staying (I'm giving it time) but I'm open to suggestions for Zer0 xD Maybe it'll motivate me to get on.

What about meeting people in secret to talk about private things no one else can know? Or finding somebody and becoming unlikely friends?

You can tell people all the stuff you want to in the chat box or something, but that doesn't make your character any more developed as far as "story" goes. Your character should already be well developed and certain topics should be how other characters learn about your character and form some sort of relationship, weather it be good or bad, that might be subject to change if a certain thing happens, if the character changes, or if one of them/both of them learns something new about one another. And all of this needs to be done in a way that makes sense and is in character. You can't just have your spew everything out to someone at a random time because you want them to. They decide who gets to know what when. Sure sometimes things can spill or circumstances should force their hand, but it needs to seen natural and not just a lazy way of telling the audience more about your character. I think the first step to achieving this would be having some roleplays that aren't just all about fighting. The only problem with that is often times things turn into small talk and nothing really important happens. It's possible people can talk with other people to make a plan in order to ensure that things get done, but there's got to be some other ways as well and those ways may vary depending upon the character. Maybe in a roleplay something happens that remind a character of their past and that character starts acting differently or talks to other people about it. I'm not sure of all the ways peeps can do character development and nor am I sure that there's a formula for it. Each individual owner may have to figure out how they might be able to develop each of their characters and do whatever that thing is, if possible.
