Little Raskal (Navi & Shudaar) ---Finished

At a quick glance in the dark, he would have passed for a black dog.  However, at a closer glance, or just not being stupid and noticing the lack of fur, it could be seen that he was a black dragon.  Most likely still a child, being only about roughly two feet tall in shoulder length, the black night fury crept along the walls of the city, staying in the shadows.  He had learned that if he remained hidden and didn't bother anyone, the worst that he would get is screamed at and maybe kicked.  But that was better than the sharp metal things being flung at him on tiny wooden sticks.  The Night Fury, Shudaar, was only in the city for two reason.  The first reason is that when he found funny tasting green paper, rectangular shape and gave it to a certain human male in an alley way, he got a bucket of milk.  He happily did that trade every time, as the paper tree stuff did not ever taste good.  This first reason was why Shudaar was here now, but first he had to look for the green paper.  The second reason as to why Shudaar ever entered the city was because he was lonely, and at least here he was able to watch creatures move about, and even when they yelled and threw stuff at him, it made him feel acknowledged at least.  Ever since he had hatched, he had never known the loving touch of a mother, the wise teaching of a father.  No, all he knew was the pain humans inflicted upon him, and that he was a feral beast that had no place in the world.  Yet here he was, in the place where people hated him, just living day by day.  Even though Shudaar felt like he had no place in the world, he still did enjoy the simple things in life.  And one of those things was the milk from that man in the alley.  Today, he was going to find that funny green paper, and get some.  He had happened to notice a female who seemed very happy with themselves, and was carrying the funny bag that the females carried.  He learned that a lot of the times, there was the green paper in there, and so he went for it.   It was the beginnings of morning, the sun just rising, so he had to act quick to disappear into the alley as darkness had left.  Shudaar waited until the female was walking by, and then quickly snatched the bag from her and bolted down an alley and into a tiny winder, just barely squeezing through.  It led into a building, and Shudaar ran across the rafters, the bag in his maw as he exited out another window into a different alleyway.  There, he dropped the bag and used his claws to open it up, giving a thrill as he saw a large wad of the green paper.  Quickly taking that in his maw, he left the remains of the bag and ran down several alleyways, bits of green paper falling from his muzzle.  Once he found the special milk door, he began to paw at it until a somewhat overweight male came out, scowling.  "Oh, its you....here for your milk a-..." the man stopped speaking, tilting his head as Shudaar dropped the green wad of paper into the mans hand.  The man couldn't believe it, almost 50,000....The man took the money, and Shudaar began to worry something was wrong as he wasn't moving.  However, before he could worry to much, the man patted his head, chuckling before bringing out TWO buckets of milk!  Not only had the man patted him instead of the usual gruff talk, but he got two instead of one!  Purring happily, he began to drink the milk from one bucket as the milkman went back inside, locking the door and becoming scarce.

It was the day after Navi had collected her reward for slaying that giant of a dragon. Today was spending spree day. The first spend of the day was something to carry the wad of cash in. Normally Navi was no fan of purses but seeing as her trench coat was being cleaned she didn't have bottomless pockets to stuff it in. It was still early in the morning so she had plenty of time to figure out what she was going to buy. Walking through the streets in her casual school attire she looked around for exotic stuff. Before she could find any however she was robbed! A little black dragon popped out of nowhere and snatcher her brand new purse full of cash. What the heck was a little dragon doing out here anyways weren't they super valuable and hunted. This city was like one of the worse places for one of them to be.

As soon as the little thing appeared he was gone and with her money. Immediately Navi's hair and eyes turned crimson red and she gave chase into the ally the little black thing bolted down. It appeared to have entered a building. Navi doubted the thing planned on hiding in there so she leap up on top of the roof so she could see where it would escape. She might have been too late though as she didn't see anything. A non human sound in a nearby alleyway attracted her attention. Upon inspection she found a trail of her monies. The least the little thief could do was value what it stole. Navi let out a little sigh at the chase she was having to undergo to take back her monies. Luckily it was quickly over as she located the little mischief maker lapping up some milk with her money nowhere in sight. Returning back to her normal self Navi went invisible and silently crept up on the creature returning to viability once again after she had grabbed the thing with her hands and lifted it up to face her dangling from her hands. If it tried to escape she'd reenter her hunter mode and make sure it couldn't. "What you'd do with my money you little twerp." she said with an unamused look on her face.

The milk tasted so good!  It was the best way to start the day, having his favorite little treat before returning to the outskirts and leaving the village of the bipedals to catch a rabbit or two for a meal. At least, that was his plan after drinking the wonderful milk.  Shudaar was enjoying the creamy goodness in the first bucket, having not a clue in the world that he had been followed before he felt something grabbed him and hoisted him up into the air, being whirled around to face his unknown assailant.  Oh crap....it was the lady who's green paper he had taken, and she seemed very angry at him.  The look on her face scared him, and he looked at her with wide eyes.  Debating his two options, to either appear cute and cuddly, or attack and run, he chose the second.  The first one never seemed to work with the wolves, so he doubted it would work with angry bipedal females.  The only warning that something was happening would be Shudaar's body scrunching up along with his face, followed by little crackling sounds before electricity flowed from his small body outwards, shooting off in all directions of him.  Since he was young and untrained, the electricity  was shot everywhere instead of being focused, and its deadly potential reduced dramatically.  However, it would still shock Navi, and if she dropped or weakened her grip, he would wiggle free and bolt.  If not, he would shake his head and blink, refocusing his vision, before staring at a most likely pissed off Navi.

The look of shock on the little dragons face was actually adorable. The look of shock turned into what looked to be a look of concentration which was far less adorable. Navi looked at the little thing with a raised eyebrow of curiosity till she was suddenly jolted with electricity. Shocked and in sudden pain Navi dropped the dragon and cried out from the assault on her nervous system. It was so rare someone actually managed to hurt her that she was really pissed. It took all her will power not to kill the thing outright. It was almost worth 50,000 to kill the little dragon. Quickly recovering Navi would raise one of her arms into the air with her palm facing up and a dome of intense fire would enclose the fleeing dragon. Navi would enter the dome the flames brushing past her skin harmlessly. Her clothing on the other hand was not so immune. All but her fireproof undergarments burned away. "Look. I'm not going to hurt you if I don't have to. I just want my money back and I'll be on my way. If you won't cooperate I can't guarantee I'll keep in control." To drive home the point she increased the temperature of the dome a bit. "So please just give me my money back."

The shock seemed to have freed him, and he bolted down the alley, forgetting his milk as he ran. He thought he was free and going to make it till he felt a heat source surround him, and a wall of flames encompass him. Yelping, he skidded to a halt to avoid running into the wall of flame, turning around and seeing he was encompassed. His eyes widened again as he witnessed Navi walk through the flame into the bubble of fire, but lacking the previous cloth that most humans wore. He backed up away from the angered female, knowing at he had messed up, and messed up bad. He almost backed into the flame wall before the heat warned him against it. Shivering now in fear that the human was going to kill him, he curled into himself, trying to appear as small as possible as he shivered, hiding his face from the female. There was no use whimpering, and if he had drinker more milk, he probably would have wet himself from the fear of the female. He understood enough of the talk to here hurt and money, and feared that she would extract revenge in him for taking he greenified paper. The temperature heated up inside e dome, and the fear of literally being cooked alive seemed very real, causing him to whimper and try to hide his face even more, practically vibration on the ground.

Navi was stunned by the little dragons reaction. It'd be obvious even to a social retard that this thing was scared pissless. Navi hadn't even considered till now that this thing might be an innocent child just getting into trouble. She supposed it was incredibly small for a dragon especially in comparison to the one she had recently killed. What use it would have for money she had no idea, but she was convinced now it had no nefarious intentions. Navi's facial expression softened and she would slowly approach the little black dragon. "Hey, I'm sorry I didn't mean to terrify you." She would say in a soft tone as she cautiously went to pick him up. This time though she would pick him up by cradling him in her arms. If he didn't struggle or take off she'd extinguish the dome of fire. "It's alright I'm not going to hurt you. I just want to know where you put the money you took from me. Can you tell me that?" She'd remain perfectly still so as not to startle him while he was in her arms and she would speak softly.

He expected the final blow to come, the one that would take him out of this small, pitiful life, yet instead, he was spoken to in a soft voice. Shudaar did not dare oppose, strike, flee or shock the female this time, knowing he was no match for her. Instead, he let her pick him up and then cradle him. He was shocked to say the least, sniffling slightly as his neck scrunched into his shoulders. It was odd being held in such a caring way, gently being held on his back as his tail draped over her arms. His front paws were cuddled together on his chest. Whoever this female was, she was strong enough to hold him like this, which only solidified his opinion that running or fighting was a terrible idea. She spoke of monies, something foreign to him, but she seemed to want it. "n-nu monies....green paper...for milk..." he spoke in dragon speech. He did not know how to speak in the human tongue, even though he understood part of it. Her calm, quiet voice along with being held in her cradling arms seemed to sooth him, stopping his trembling. While Shudaar was still scared, he was oddly calm for it. No human had shown him any kindness, except the milkman when he brought the paper, but was only awarded with milk, and on rare occasions, a pat on the head.

Navi doubted she could terrify the thing any further than she had. So when it stopped trembling she took at as a good sign it was calming down. This was a very strange situation for her. Never before has she ever calmed something or tried to sooth it. In her line of work she would just intimidate, interrogate, or start lopping off heads till she got what she wanted. This was far from the first time a creature stood as an obstacle to her money, but it was the first time a baby intelligent creature did so and for some reason she felt sick thinking of attempting to use her normal methods. It was very odd for her to feel this humanity or morality or decency or whatever it was, she couldn't really put her finger on it. Either way she almost wanted to kill the creature just to be rid of this foreign feeling, but she couldn't even raise a finger to such an intention. Still she wanted her money and all she was getting from this thing was what she assumed to be dragon speech. She dared not look for an interpreter, for carrying a dragon into the public would put a huge target on its back and she was uncomfortable doing such a thing in her indecent circumstances. Killing off perusing wana be hunters in her underwear was not something she wanted her name to be known for. She was pretty sure she had a funky dream like that once though, only with no dragon.

Getting nowhere Navi decided to retrace her steps with dragon in arms. She came back to the buckets of milk the thing was drinking from. Examining her surroundings nothing seemed out of place or looked like a good place to stach a bunch of cash. The only thing around was a back door to a building. This was the spot she found him without any of her money on him and the trail of cash didn't lead anywhere else, it stopped at the door. Using her foot Navi gave a couple loud knocks on the door.

While the female holding his showed more skin that most others, Shudaar paid no heed to it for three main reasons. The first reason was that the important parts of the female was still covered, and the second was that it was a different species anyway. The last reason was because he was still terrified that the human female might just snap, and snap his body in a fit of rage. Judging from the lack of understanding and the blank face, Shudaar guessed that she was not understanding a thing he had said. The best course of action was to just shut up and appear as nonthreatening as possible, and give no reason for her to hurt him. That meant no struggling, no loud noises, no panicking. Just laying in her arms as she carried him wherever she pleased..

Hearing a knock on the door, the milkman opened it with a sigh. "look, please go to the front if y-oh my..." he said, quite shocked at seeing a teen, holding a dragon in her arms while only in the bare essentials. "Ummm, excuse me miss, can I help you? Come inside if you wish..." he asked, leaving the door open as he motioned her inside. Just inside was a small but heavy safe that was open. Inside it was the money pouch that Shudaar had stolen from Navi. Before anything could really happen, the man shut the safe and spun the lock, turning to look at Navi, possibly a little too closely. "So dear miss....why is it you are holding a dragon and only in your...eh....undergarments?" he asked, as the sight of a 14 year old girl standing like that was quite uncommon, especially when she was holding the dragon that brought him the cash.

Someone actually came and opened the door. She guessed by his initial response that he sold goods of some sort expecting her to be a customer it seemed. His attitude shifted as soon as he processed just what he was looking at. It seemed he liked what he saw as he invited her inside. It was obvious he wasn't just being kind to a girl he found on his back door. It was strange as Navi had only just started to develop. It seemed this was one of those people described as a pedophile. He left the door open and motioned for her to enter and from here she could see the safe which without a doubt hid her money. It all became clear to Navi now. Somehow this dragon learned that if it brought money to this guy he would give it milk, but that was a puny amount of milk for so much cash. Stepping inside Navi was disappointed to see the man close the safe on her. She couldn't teleport to it for fear of hurting the dragon and burning the cash up. Her theory that he was a pedo was confirmed as he stared at her budding parts. "Well you see funny story that. You see this dragon came out of nowhere and stole my cash. I followed it and found it drinking some milk, but the cash was nowhere in sight. That milk better be straight from the holy cows of heaven and then some to be worth 50k. As for my clothing predicament I'm afraid its difficult to find stuff that is fireproof." Navi said before simply looking at his shirt and causing it to catch fire. "See when you play with fire it's important to have the necessary protection. Now why don't you open that safe and give me my money back before the fire you're playing with losses its temper-ature." Navi said her tone always carrying a bit of sass to it. Indeed her mood was far more mellow than it would be if she wasn't holding a dragon she didn't want to startle.

Shudaar watched the door open and was carried inside the area. He had never entered this place before, always being told to stay outside and wait for his treat. It was actually pretty scary being in an area he wasn't supposed to be. The man, who was talking to the female, all of a sudden had his shirt catch fire. Yelling, he ripped and pulled his shirt off, throwing it on the ground to stamp out the flames. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!" the man yelled quite angrily, "I don't know what you are talking about!" Of course the man knew exactly what she was talking about, as it was pretty obvious. This female was trying to rip him off, obviously working in tandem with the little devil she carried in her arms. "This is my money, and I don't care what you say! I will NOT open this safe! It is my money now, and I don't care if you lost it, it is not my problem!" he huffed quite angrily at the girl, almost smacking her. However, smacking a girl who was hardly dressed would definitely raise some brows, so he refrained for now. "Now git out of my shop before I turn you in to the bounty hunters for attempted robbery!" Shudaar winced at the loud, harsh words, curling in further in on himself with his head, even though he was on his back and exposed. Right now, he felt much safer in the females arms than facing the enraged male, who seemed to be glaring death at him and at the female.

Ohhh did Navi want to murder him. But judging from the dragon's reaction in her arms it might go into shock as result of what she had planned for this fellow. For the sake of the child in her arms she would withdraw for now. Navi shot the man a glare full of killing intent as she left through the back door. "If you're looking for a bounty hunter I hear the Flame of Night is the best." With that Navi would leave with the little dragon still in her arms.

First she'd head for the laundry mat and pick up her fireproof black clothing and trench coat, so she wouldn't draw any further attention to herself. The lady at the counter almost refused to give Navi her clothing back as she didn't recognize her. Navi said she dyed her hair and suddenly the lady recognized her but swore her eyes were suppose to be black before returned the now clean clothing. Going to the bathroom Navi put the clothing on right away setting the dragon down just for a second and keeping a close eye on him. Picking him back up she headed out and went looking for the nearest motel. She booked a room for one day with the 20 cash she had stashed in her trench coat pocket. Navi set the little black dragon down on the bed. "You stay right here. I'll be back in a few and if you're good and stay put like I told you to I'll bring you back some milk." Navi said not even sure if the thing understood her.

Heading back to the milk man Navi returned to the back entrance. She drew her katana out from her coat pocket and kicked the back door in freeing it from its hinges and landing it on the other side of the room. She would then proceed to cut off the top of his safe with her sword. Even if it was made of titanium her sword would slice through it like a hot knife through butter. She'd then retrieve her money and anything else in the safe and stuff it down her infinite pockets. If the milk man attempted to stop her with force she'd lop off his head. Otherwise she'd just lop off his tool for reproducing. After that was finished she'd sheath her sword into her pocket grab a couple of buckets of milk and head back to the motel. If the dragon stayed like she told it to she'd present it with the milk. She'd then sit down on her bed with her legs criss crossed and exit her hunter mode. Her hair and eyes would return to their black color and she'd watch the dragon enjoy the milk.

It wasn't till now that she questioned her actions. She could have just as easily set the dragon aside and take her money back. She didn't have to bring it here and give it milk. Perhaps the loneliness of her life as a bounty hunter or assassin or whatever was getting to her. Perhaps she wanted some company and for some reason this dragon was cute enough and unique enough to attract her attention. She would test her feelings on this matter by reaching forward and stroking the dragons back.

Shudaar was terrified as Navi carried him out into the open. He had always stayed in the shadows, for his own safety, but now he was bring brought into different places. The female human carried him into a noisy area, before the female was handed a thingy that other bipedals wore. They were walked into another room, and he was briefly set down in it. It was a strange place for him to be, and he was nervously glancing around before letting out a little peep at being picked up again and carried out. He hid his face now against her arm, not peeking as he tried to hide against her arms, obviously failing. Once again, the female carried him into another bipedal structure, and was brought into some sort of room after the female carrying him handed some green paper to another. He was set down on something cushiony and springy. It was....odd. Not natural. His brain registered something about stay and milk, blinking as he looked up as the female left. He was honestly scared now, locked in a new environment. However, as he got up to flee, his foot felt the squish of the bed. It was a shock. So squishy. Not like the ground you stepped on. His curiosity overriding his sense of danger, he poked the thing he was set on, finding it comfy. He would definitely have to explore this further.

Back at the shop, the man heard someone kick down his back door. He grabbed a kitchen knife, running to the back just in time to witness the girl cutting his safe and taking the money. "Hey! THIEF! GET BACK HERE YOU LITTLE B-" and those were the last words the man uttered as a blade kindly removed his head from the rest of his body. His body fell and hit the ground, knife clattering as it hit the ground. Soon, people would be screaming as a murder took place.

Back in the room, Shudaar had explored the bed, finding it very comfy. But, it was nothing compared to the fluffy objects near the back of the bed against the wall. Those rectangular shaped things were fluffy boxes from the gods. Shudaar was rubbing and purring as he was laying on top and under the pillows, his tail on top on one end, and head underneath another. He was hardly aware of Navi coming back into the room, busy rubbing his face against the fluffy objects, almost falling asleep until he felt the bed jump as she sat down. Peeping his head up from the pillows, he looked wide eyed at Navi, lowering his head sheepishly. That was, however, until he saw the milk. She seemed to be presenting it too him. It could have been a trap, but if it was, she would have finished him long ago. Creeping forward, he began to gently lap at the liquid, growing a little bolder with each lick as the yummy creamy liquid went down his throat. He gave a startled jolt as he felt a hand touch his back, but calmed as he stared at Navi, realizing she meant no harm. He had no idea whatever this human's intentions where, but if it was to give him milk and pets, he wouldn't complain. Besides, the feeling of being....loved....was something he sorely missed. Holding off on the milk, Shudaar took a chance and laid almost against the side of Navi's leg, purring nervously as he did not want to piss her off and ruin the moment.

As Navi reentered her motel room she found the little dragon discovering the comfort of pillows. After discovering her return however it became apparent to Navi that the dragon was still not comfortable with her, but that was to be expected. He seemed to open up to the allure of milk though. He was startled at first by her touch but then the strangest thing happened. He actually laid beside her leg and purred. The welcoming response warmed Navi's heart and she continued to pet him this time giving his head some attention too, seeing as it was no longer dipped in milk. If it was going to hang around a bit she needed something to refer to it as. She didn't even know its gender yet or how to even figure that out. "Do you understand what I say? Move your head up and down for yes and left and right for no." Navi asked. After she discovered the answer she would then ask if he could speak common or write it. When she found the answer to be no she would proceed to ask a series of yes or no questions to figure things out. "Are you a boy?" She even devised a way to figure out his name by going through every letter of the alphabet till she reached the letter he said yes to. "Is the first letter S?" "Is the second letter H?" "Is the third letter U?" She would stop there though, being sick of going through every letter till she got the correct one. So for now she would just call him Shu. It was hard to keep a conversation going with just yes and no answers so for the most part she would just enjoy his company.

Navi was unconcerned about her murder earlier as she enjoyed Shu's company. The authorities knew her as the Flame of Night, an expert and elusive assassin with burning red eyes and flaming red hair. A 14 year old girl with black eyes and hair blending in with society is not what they were searching for.

As Navi began to stroke his head and back, he melted into her leg, purring as he nuzzled against it. How long had it been since affection was able to be received and expressed? Oh wait....never. Not going to drowned in the past, and just enjoy the moment, even if fleeting, Shudaar lifted his head up into her palm, rumbling pleasantly at physical contact that didn't hurt. Then something very different happened. The bipedal tried to talk to him, get him to converse. Was he dead? It just didn't seem possible. The shock and realization at her attempts to communicate him almost made him miss the first and most important question, just barely nodding after staring at her blankly. The next question was wierd, something about common lang u age, but who lang was was a mystery, so he just stared blankly at Navi till she moved on. The next questions made him snort. Was he male? Of course he was! He nodded his head and rolled over onto his back, now partially laying on her own lap. The following questions were oh so tedious, requiring a lot of head shaking that it almost made him dizzy. it appeared that the female also got tired of asking such pointless questions, as she only spelled out Shu. Well, he wouldn't complain. He was getting affection from someone who could snap him and burn him alive, a grisly fate he most hoped to avoid. After figuring out his name, or at least half of it, she seemed to quiet down, and he just laid there, staring up at her with his head partially in her lap as he blinked, rumbling softly.

After a couple of hours of cuddling Navi began to realize to her delight that this was not a one night stand so to speak. The way their relationship was developing it was pretty clear than neither of them had anyone well almost anyone. Navi had her guild and Shu had the milkman and who knows who else. Neither of them were very attached, but at the same time its all they had. It was clear the two of them would be sticking together from now on. And Shu was no pet. She was an intelligent creature. If they were going to hang out it was important they figured out how to communicate with one another. Seeing as how there was unlikely to be any dragon speech instructors around Shu was just going to have to learn Navi's language. She'll have to send the dragon to speech classes in between jobs orrrrr she could not work for awhile and spend all her money and time on just taking care of Shu and getting her classes for speaking and writing and what not. Not like the dragon was in any danger with Navi protecting her. Leaving her alone anywhere was not an option though.

Shudaar purred as he was pretty much cuddled with Navi, laying on her lap on his back. During the course of the time, he had scootched up so he was completely laying on her lap. He gentle petting had lured him asleep, comfy and safe. Even though it was still technically morning, or noon, Shudaar slept heavily. If he woke up alone, he would be sad, knowing that he sold probably never feel the same affection again. Thankfully, that was not the case, as he would wake up wi navi still there. Who would have thought that the day he wanted milk would turn into something much more.
